Ever have the feeling that you just want to punch someone? Or kick them, throw them to the ground and maybe get your nunchucks on?

Well have I got the place for you- White Tiger Taekwondo & Martial Arts here in Cary, NC. Located at 1605 NW Maynard Rd., White Tiger is one of the largest Martial Arts school in the world and offers classes in a variety of martial arts disciplines as well as offering fitness classes, childcare, a weight room and walking track. It’s great for kids and adults- in fact, you can even take classes together!

But don’t just take my word for it- I’ve got a special guest writer for you: Kid #1! Yup, Kid #1 spent his labor day doing some of mama’s work, but I thought you might appreciate an actual user’s point of view. Enjoy-

White Tiger Taekwondo & Martial Arts

When I was little I wanted to be a ninja. So I took martial arts lessons, which included taekwondo, hapkido, and judo. It was fun and I learned to kick and punch. I hated the parts when you were supposed to throw people to the ground. (That’s in judo). I also hated the testing the most. During my first testing, I was scared, terrified, and nervous. I was only 4 years old. It went ok.

When I was 6 years old, we moved to Cary, North Carolina. We settled, and when we bought a house my mom signed me up for White Tiger Taekwondo & Martial Arts.  White Tiger offers taekwondo, hapkido, and weapons classes. I am taking taekwondo classes.

There are 12 belts in taekwondo that show what rank you are. White belt is the first belt.  You can go up to the black belt. Every belt has different forms and self-defense to learn. The belt I am at right now is a bo-don belt. It is half-red and half-black.  My next belt will be a black belt, (if I pass my testing.)

To earn a black belt I must do 9,000 sit ups, 6,000 pushups, and run 100 miles. I must know and practice all my belt forms and self-defenses. I must also do 100 acts of kindness and compassion and raise at least $35 for the White Tiger Community Cares Program. I must also complete a black-belt project (I’m doing this now). All this by November!  Easy, huh? (As you can see, I am no longer terrified of testing.)

I love taekwondo. I have fun kicking and punching. I have fun performing  all of my forms. Even more, taekwondo teaches me how to defend myself and focus my mind and control my movements.  Taekwondo also teaches me to be a better person by being respectful and kind to others.

Taekwondo has taught me to have goals. One of my goals since I was little was to be a black belt. I must always learn more things and practice more to achieve my goals. I may not have the goal to be a ninja anymore but I am glad that I started taekwondo.

I would recommend it to other people because I think they will have a great time too! Go White Tiger!

 Great job sweetie! Thank you!
